Oblates Evening of Reflection
Third Tuesday of the Month 6:30-8:00 PM.


Facilitator: Fr. Albert Marflak, OSB

 

The Benedictine Oblates of St. Andrew Abbey, Cleveland, is a spiritual association of persons from all walks of life who seek to enrich their Christian way of life. Oblates are inspired by Gospel values as reflected in the Holy Rule and life of St. Benedict. If you seek God to deepen your holiness and inner Peace through Prayer and Lectio (praying the Sacred Scriptures), and Work; if you desire the values of simplicity, hospitality and reverence for all life then a spiritual union with the monks of St. Andrew Abbey as an Oblate may be for you. A new program for Oblates will be held on the third Tuesday of the month at Loyola Retreat House, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. For information contact: Fr. Our Facilitator...

Fr. Albert M. Marflak, OSB, professed his vows as a Benedictine monk of St. Andrew Abbey in 1970 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1l975.  He did his undergraduate studies at St. John’s University in Minnesota and completed his graduate work for ordination at St. Mary Seminary, Cleveland.  He did additional post graduate studies at St. Vincent College, Pennsylvania, John Carroll University and the Benedictine University of Sant’ Anselmo, Rome. 

Fr. Albert brings a wealth of experience as our retreat master, having given retreats in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as numerable days of recollection through the Cleveland diocese.  He has been a teacher, chaplain and President of Benedictine High School.

Fr. Albert has a wide range of experience in priestly ministry, having been Pastor of St. Benedict Parish for fourteen years.  Fr. Albert has been administrator of Most Holy Trinity Romanian Byzantine Parish in Chester Township.  He currently assists in the Eparchy of St. George, Canton, Byzantine Eparchy of Parma, St. Elias, Melkite Greek Catholic Parish, and Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in South Euclid.

Fr. Albert has served in a number of offices at the Abbey—as Treasurer, Vocation Director and Prior.  He is presently the Subprior, Director of Abbey Mission and Oblate Director.
